Mandy’s Story

MandyI was addicted to heroin and crack and had become a liar and a thief.

I was in and out of prison all the time. I was trapped.

Someone told me about Jesus and I started going along to church. The people were really nice to me. This lady asked if I wanted to accept Jesus into my heart. But after I prayed, the drug addiction didn’t stop, so I phoned her up very angry. She said to me:

You are a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.

I didn’t understand, but she spoke a word that went into my heart. Later on, when I was withdrawing from drugs, I spoke that word into the addiction.

I witnessed God, through that word, lift me above the withdrawal.

The power of Scripture, the Word of God, is that it’s alive – and when you speak it into whatever circumstance, God is able.
