It makes use of a cool online presentation builder called Prezi. You place words, images and video on a canvas, and then scroll around the screen, zooming in on preset areas. The creative possibilities for liturgy, bible readings, notices, (songwords?) are pretty much endless! Lectio Divina is an ancient art of Bible meditation. This guided meditiation takes you through reading and hearing the passage a number of times, then reflecting on the parts which jump out to you. The Youthwork DJ Steve Leach played a track by Jon Hopkins over the top (hear it on You Tube), but you could use another piece of music or none.

A new Biblical Oratorio for soloists, chorus and orchestra

Composed in 2007 by David Perkins with Libretto using only modern biblical language complied and edited by Derek Wensley, Re:Creation was premiered at St John's, Smith Square, London in 2009. Re:Creation retells Salvation history in five parts : God’s Creativity released…recognised…resisted…restored…renewed. To the original 100 minute version, has been added a 60 minute version to give the alternative possibility of creating a concert programme using extracts from earlier Biblical (King James) works. These options can enable local churches, choral groups, schools, colleges and orchestras to combine to put on concerts celebrating the English Bible through traditional and contemporary choral music.

To engage with Biblefresh, and to begin exploring the biblical theme for their main event this year, Spring Harvest is joining forces with a few of Britain’s Cathedrals and some larger churches to commemorate 400 years of the King James Bible and celebrate the retelling of scripture for every generation. They’re joined by poet Gerard Kelly and historian Derek Wilson for an eight-date tour, sharing insights and reflections on the text, set alongside Lacey Theatre Company’s extracts from the award-winning ‘Word on the Street’ (formerly ‘the street bible’). Ancient meets modern, text meets expression and people meet scripture in an ever-unfolding story. It will be an opportunity to explore how the Bible has shaped and influenced our culture, and to enjoy an evening of theatre, poetry and more.The tour runs from 4th-13th February 2011 and lands in Brighton, Peterborough, Wakefield, Manchester, Stafford, Malmesbury, Guildford and Exeter. Back in the spring of 1999, I remember sitting in a large conference hall with hundreds of delegates from all round the world discussing whether it would be possible to start a language project in every language that needed it by 2025. It isn't easy for a multi-national organisation with thousands of members working all over the globe to change, but as the Wycliffe leadership discussed and prayed, we sensed God speaking to us and Vision 2025 was born.
