Foundation Year
Foundation Year, is an ideal course for those students who are passionate about undertaking studies in Applied Theology but lack the acdemic qualifications to enter the degree programme directly.
Dip(He)
The Diploma in Applied Theology provides students with in-depth training in biblical, theological, cross-cultural and mission studies. In the second year of this validated course, students research subjects in more depth and have the opportunity to critique different viewpoints as part of their studies.
BA(Hons)
The BA Honours Degree in Applied Theology in Intercultural Contexts is ecognized as providing students with thorough preparation and training for full-time Christian work anywhere in the world. The three-year validated course offers in-depth biblical, theological, cross-cultural and mission studies and allows students to increase their Bible knowledge within the context of practical application and a global perspective

The course has been designed for Christian youth workers who also work in school settings. It equips students to work in Christian youth work and ministry, and to work within secondary schools and post-16 educational settings. Modules will cover working with individuals, working with groups, working informally in ‘formal’ settings, management and education. This unique qualification provides NYA endorsement as a professional youth worker with a specific focus on work in schools. Graduates of this course would be expected to be employed by churches, Christian charities or voluntary sector organisations specialising in work in schools or with Local Authorities, Schools and the Connexions Service.

This exciting and challenging new course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills and theological reflection. Successful graduates will be skilled and equipped to work in Christian youth ministry and a wide range of general youth work settings. They will also have gained the JNC professional qualification which provides access to a wide variety of youth work jobs. The course includes modules which will cover working with individuals; working with groups; issues of equity, diversity, and interdependence; human development; management; and good practice. CYM youth and community graduates are very well respected in the field and are employed as youth workers or youth ministers by churches and Christian youth work organisations. Others also enter professional careers with Local Authorities, the Connexions Service or other voluntary or statutory projects.

CThM
This course combines Biblical studies, Christian thought and worship, pracical theology and other language options.On successful completion of the CThM students may transfer to the BA or Diploma course. A version of this course has been accredited by the Church of England as ppropriate training for older ordination candidates (over 50 years). The qualification is validated by the University of Nottingham.

BA Honours Degree
The course will enable you to view core topics such as family, community, mission, and values through the lens of the child, interweaving the golden threads of creativity, play, development and spirituality. Specialist modules will develop your knowledge and skills to work with children and families, including the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the Children’s Workforce that complements the Every Child Matters Agenda. The qualification provides a foundation as a practitioner and manager in this rapidly developing area of practice. Graduates of this course would be expected to be employed by churches, Christian charities or voluntary sector organisations working with children and families or within partnerships between churches and the statutory sector.

Cor Deo exists to multiply ministry that shares God's heart. A small team of participants are invited to join the Cor Deo mentors for an intensive season of theological study, biblical ministry and spiritual growth. The programme runs from February-July. This programme is a unique combination of intense biblical study with a varied mentored exposure to ministry in the UK and overseas.

The two-year Diploma in Theology course is designed to prepare students for a wide variety of Christian service, equipping them to think in a biblically balanced and creative way. The third term of each year includes an extended period of summer mission work as an integral part of the course.

Undertaking doctoral research at London School of Theology provides you with the opportunity to be involved in research at the cutting edge of the theological disciplines. You will have the opportunity to furnish both the worldwide church and the academic community with expertise that will carry the best traditions of evangelical Christian scholarship into the next generation and enable you to teach at tertiary level.

FdA or BTh
The key aim of this course is for participants to become more reflective and thus effective in their Christian ministry, whatever form that takes. Being theologically reflective requires profound engagement with scripture - a habit that is developed throughout this course. The foundation degree is taught on Tuesday evenings and some Saturdays, takes two years full-time, and has a significant ministry component. There is also the option of continuing for a third year to gain a BTh honours degree.

Involved in ministry and mission and want to deepen your theological understanding and reflection on practice?St John’s MA aims to enable you to engage critically with contemporary challenges within a deeply-sourced biblical and theological framework and in relation to the practice of mission and ministry. It is open to clergy and lay people of any tradition or denomination.Validated by University of Chester

The MA in Reflective Practice and Applied Theology allows choice from topics such as leadership, doctrine in practice, mission-shaped practice, management, spirituality and many more. Students will normally have substantial experience in an appropriate professional field and be able to provide evidence of an ability to study at MA level.

Bible, Church and World
The overall ethos of this programme reflects the transforming nature of the Bible when interpreted well and applied to life. It will prepare you for contemporary mission to the world in diverse forms, church-based ministry or further academic study. The core module will demonstrate and engage hermeneutical tools for understanding the biblical text well, and applying it to life. It will highlight the nature of biblical wisdom, the way it has been understood, and its transforming effects in and through the life of the believer.

Like the MTh, the degree is aimed at those who have already completed formal theological training. For an MPhil you need to offer a careful and critical investigation and evaluation of an approved topic, and demonstrate an understanding of the research methods appropriate to your chosen field.

The degree is aimed at those who have already completed formal theological training - they might be theology graduates, ministers, missionaries, Religious Education teachers, or business people as well as potential PhD students. The MTh is a first research degree, combining training in research and writing skills. Candidates for this degree follow a programme of study approved by the Director of Research and write their thesis on an approved topic in one of the major theological disciplines.

CertHE in Applied Theology in Cross-Cultural Contexts
Whether you are an accountant, teacher, plumber, IT specialist, development worker or vet, if God has called you to use your skills in cross-cultural mission then the right kind of focused training is vital. Our one year validated 'Professionals in Mission' Certificate addresses the issues surrounding living and working in cross-cultural situations, while also allowing you time to explore your own personal needs in preparation for cross-cultural mission service.

The Theology programme is academically rigorous but also addresses the changing cultural and intellectual climate. This need is met through our integrated theology and counselling programme, run in partnership with CWR. It's for people interested in training for pastoral ministry or mission with a strongly individual focus, and people interested in becoming professional Christian counsellors with a well-laid foundation in the Bible and theology.

This combined honours programme is the only one of its kind in Europe and combines a wide range of music styles and perspectives with core theological teaching. This inspiring and challenging programme is offered at Certificate, Diploma or Degree level. It was developed with the Music & Worship Foundation (MWF), and draws on its wide network of worship leaders and professional Christian musicians.
